Are You Checking Your Engine?
Imagine that you are cruising down a beautiful country road enjoying the day and you glance down at your speedometer and you notice that your check engine light is illuminated. What do you do? Most of us would pull over the first chance we got and investigate the cause of the light. We go over all of the major components and they all seem to check out so you continue on your ride, but that light is still there. Now you can't enjoy your ride because of a light that seems to be mocking you. So you turn around and head for home. When you get there, do you just put the bike up hoping that the next time you ride, the light will magically disappear? Nope, you start from the front and work your way to the rear of the bike hoping to find the cause. After spending way too much time looking for the proverbial needle in the haystack, you finally pull out your owner's manual or shop manual. You look under "troubleshooting" section until you find the cause of the light coming on. Either you fix it or you take the bike to your favorite mechanic to be repaired. How often do we receive "warning" lights in our spiritual walk only to ignore them? Some of the "warning lights" in our life might come on without us really noticing them until we "break down". Do a spiritual check up. Ask yourself, "When was the last time I really wanted to go to church? or When did I stop reading my Bible?" When we have the "warning lights" come on in our lives, let me encourage you to get your Owner's Manual, the Holy Bible, and start your research on how to get you fixed.
Until we meet again,
Keep your knees in the breeze, ten in the wind, full throttle for Jesus!!
